PCN notification (Poison Centers Notification Format) is the new transmission standard for the notification of hazardous mixtures, based on XML and compatible with IUCLID.
Pursuant to the CLP Regulation, companies that place dangerous mixtures on the market are obliged to transmit certain information to competent national bodies, so that the Poison Centers can quickly provide medical advice in the event of an emergency; cases of incongruous use or drug overdose, food poisoning or contamination with chemical and biological substances can be treated, and with suggestions for patients and treating physicians regarding the treatment of the exposed patient.
With the new Regulation (EU) 2017/542, which amends Annex VIII of the CLP Regulation, the methods of transmission of the information referred to in Article 45 have been harmonized with regard to the format and content.
